Mirrors of Times

Anna-Lea Kopperi’s site-specific work presents a multiplied, fragmented, and distorted reality in a projection of a multiplicity of details that challenge existing conceptions of space and light. Hundreds of fragments of Venetian mirror on the floor form a mosaic pattern, which dialogues with the archaeological remains under it. With a minimal intervention the artist transforms the space and the relation that visitor has with it. The traces of time passage on the artwork refer to the time stratification readable on the old ruins under the foundations of the exhibition space.
